What do you believe...?

So passionately it influences everything you do
 The patient comes first.
 Look after your people.
 Continuously improve.
Make as much profit as you can.
I firmly believe in each of those too. They have all helped to successfully guide me.
But there is one thing that I believe above all of those.
 Focus on the business
General Practice is a business and it’s clear to me that truly believing and focusing on that is
the way to make sure patients, people and profits will prosper. Possibly the only way that
ensures they all do.
Being clear on what you fundamentally believe is powerful. It will benefit you and others in
many ways.
In a busy, noisy, complex and ever changing primary care that can be a real advantage. It
allows you and others to know who you are and what you stand for. It can separate you
from the rest and bring clarity to your thinking and decision making in a way unlike anything
else.
A focus on the business has been a consistent theme of successful practices, with happy
staff and delighted patients, throughout my 18 years in primary care and 20 years in the
optical sector. It’s why I believe what I do; that you have to make your practice the best
business it can be.
I’d like to know, what do you believe?
