Are you constantly motivating?

Leaders need to motivate their team so ‘how can I motivate them’ can be a frequent question.

Done badly it’s an uphill battle but with the correct approach it can be relatively easy. You won’t get a motivated team by action as needed when morale is low. It comes from a culture that values and rewards built on these constants for motivation:

Pleasant, safe work place

That people want to come to; clean, comfortable and free of distractions. It should have all they need to be safe, effective and stimulated.

Work-life balance

Flexibility offered to reduce the stress of busy personal and work lives allowing staff to remain committed.

Positive culture

Reward success and don’t punish mistakes. Focus on what can be achieved and counter negativity by emphasising the benefits of success.

Meaningful work

Make sure the purpose of work is understood, and aligns with the right values. There needs to be variety and tasks shared according to people’s strengths.

Pay appropriately

Pay matters, so make sure it reflects what an employee is worth and measures up against what others pay.

Self-development

Train and support the team, and provide enough opportunities for everyone to achieve their full potential.

Motivating your team is easier if it’s done constantly.
