Look outwards. What can you see?

If you can’t see anything that helps you, you're either not looking in the right place, or you're not looking correctly. You're also not asking three important questions.

If you want to move forward, if you want to improve, it’s not just what’s happening on the inside that you need to pay attention to. Successful people, practices and organisations know this and they’re constantly looking outward. They network and gather information and insights. They use it to learn and guide their actions.

Like many things it’s a skill you can master. Looking outward includes the people you connect with, the information you access, the publications you read, the organisations you observe.

Do this and use three important questions:

🟠 What am I seeing and hearing?

🟠 What does that tell me?

🟠 How can I use that to help me and my business move forward?

Looking outward to learn will help you in a variety of ways. Some examples will include:

Patient Understanding - better knowledge of what patients want and need.

Stakeholder Connections - the best organisations to share resources and partner with.

Staying Competitive - keeping up with trends and technology.

Readiness for Change - you’ll anticipate changes and adapt quickly to challenges and opportunities.

I see many people and businesses do this, myself included. I see many more that don’t, they’re oblivious to what’s going on outside and in front of them. Or they look but don’t understand what they see, because they’re not using those three important questions.

🟠 What am I seeing and hearing?

🟠 What does that tell me?

🟠 How can I use that to help me and my business move forward?

Try it. Look outwards. They will help you understand what you see?
