Is every minute of your day full?
When workload is high we often think the solution is to manage time more effectively when really the need is to set clear boundaries.
Do you always say yes when your asked to help?
Constantly taking on work to please others, will only leave you stressed and less productive.
Have you made your boundaries clear?
They can be tough to set but if you don’t you’ll be taken advantage of and your time won’t be respected.
Boundaries are essential for leaders, try these if you struggle to set them:
You have a choice.
You don’t have to please everyone and you can’t do your work and everyone else’s.
Start small.
Say no to something small and easy and gradually build up to saying no to bigger things.
Don’t be sorry.
Saying no isn’t easy but the more you do it the less likely people will ask you the next time.
Always ask yourself.
Is it something that will benefit you or the practice? Does it require me, or can anybody do it?
Offer An Alternative.
Is there someone else who is able to help instead?
Use the space you’ve created.
Now protect your time so others will respect it and make sure it’s used to do what you need.
Most Practice Managers struggle with workload and time, so try setting your boundaries..
